Film Review: “Heat of Madness”

Karim Ouelhaj’s ‘Heat of Madness’ is a dark psychological thriller/supernatural horror that takes a page out of Dante’s Purgatorio, taking a hard look into the human psyche and is intentional about being a film to absorb, not just watch.

Film Review – ‘Her Will Be Done’

Kowaksi’s ‘Her Will Be Done’ is beautifully made, and offers a look into how a young woman needs to carve out her own path, and should be afforded the same freedoms as a her male counterparts to choose a life worth living for herself. Holding onto too tightly can have fiery and dire consequences.

‘Deathgasm 2: Goregeddon’, sequel to 2015’s cult classic ‘Deathgasm’ written brings the band back together for a showdown that we can’t resist. Horror comedy and metal never sounded so good!

Beneath The Macabre – Author Spotlight: Author Eugen Bacon

For this installment of "Beneath the Macabre", we have an incredible author by way of Australia, Eugen Bacon. The African-Australian writer who is hailed as the "queen of genre-bending speculative fiction" (she certainly has my vote) has won multiple awards. With her latest work, "Crimson in Quietus", she leans even further into the melding of science-fiction and fantasy with mystery and some horror elements weaved into the story. I am pleased as punch that I get to peek around in her mind as we go Beneath the Macabre.

Book Review: “Crimson In Quietus” by Eugen Bacon

Crimson in Quietus is a fantastical piece of storytelling, with elements of horror and Afro-futurism that Bacon is no stranger to lending her pen to. It’s a captivating story that is a lot to take in at times, but rich in world building that makes up for it. It turns into a murder mystery that leaves your curiosity piqued and really sucks you in.
